Predoctoral Fellowships for Students in Nutrition Research
Eligibility is based upon membership in the ASN and enrollment in a program listed on the ASN website in the ASN Directory of Graduate Programs in Nutritional Sciences. The review committee will evaluate significance, feasibility, communication and clarity, as well as overall scientific technical quality of your proposal. The maximum award amount given for the each fellowship is $5,000. Click here for review components.
Complete the Predoctoral Fellowship Application and prepare a summary of your research proposal not to exceed four single-spaced typewritten pages including objective, experimental and selected references. A twelve-point font should be used with one-inch margins throughout. Applications that fail to comply with the guidelines will not be reviewed.
Type the proposal title at the top of each page. Do not put the name of your institution or your name on the proposal. Prepare a one page statement, in nontechnical language, explaining the contribution of the proposed research to knowledge in nutrition.
All applications must be received in hard copy to the ASN office. Applications must be postmarked no later than December 15, 2013. Applicants submitted by the deadline will be notified in early spring 2014. Awards will be presented at the Scientific Sessions and Annual Meeting at Experimental Biology 2014 in San Diego, CA.
