Minority Access to Research Careers (MARC) Travel Awards for EB 2010

ASN offers minority student travel awards for the ASN Scientific Sessions and Annual Meeting at Experimental Biology each year, in partnership with FASEB Minority Access to Research Careers (MARC) Program, funded by the National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS), at NIH.  These awards are available to postdoctorate and undergraduate/graduate students to help defray the meeting registration and travel related expenses associated with attending Experimental Biology 2010 in Anaheim, CA.  These travel awards are processed as reimbursements after the meetign concludes and can value up to $1,850.  All applicants must have submitted an abstract and be a member of ASN.

In addition, we will be able to host a faculty/mentor and up to two students for meeting registration, attendance, and travel for up to $1,850 each.

Click here to access the 2010 application; application deadline is February 23rd. For additional information please contact Katrina Dunn at (301) 634-7043.

Student Interest Group (SIG) Travel Award Contest for EB 2010

The SIG awards provide students the opportunity to receive $250 based on their abstracts and presentations at the ASN Scientific Sessions and Annual Meeting at Experimental Biology each year.  Applicants will be narrowed to a number of finalists based on submitted abstracts assessed on scientific merit and specifically, the following: research design, experimental methodology, conclusions, and significance of findings to scientific knowledge.  Authors of the abstracts selected for final judging will be advised by mid-March that their presentations will be judged during their EB scheduled presentation time.  All applicants must be a student member of ASN as well as a first author on the submitted abstract.

The 2010 application will be available shortly. For additional information or questions, please contact Diana Tavares at 301-634-7278.

ASN Awards

The ASN awards programs include the Graduate Student Research Awards Competition, pre-doctoral fellowships, National Clinical Nutrition Internships, and more. In addition, many of the ASN annual awards include special prizes for emerging investigators and young nutrition professionals.
