Description:
Sarcopenia is age-related loss of muscle mass. Recent research has been focused on prevention of this condition, exploring the effects of dietary protein (at the appropriate amounts) and exercise. This session will focus the current state of knowledge in this relatively new area, including defining sarcopenia, identifying functional and clinical outcomes, and results of interventions investigating the effects of both exercise and dietary protein interventions.
