The Experimental Biology conference is all about revealing the latest scientific research studies. ASN provides comprehensive education programs throughout the year (including EB) in order to educate its members on relevant nutrition topics. Some of ASN's members have access to the public, who are hungry... err starving for the latest nutrition information. That's where the ASN spokesperson program comes in.
ASN Recruits and Trains Talented Experts on Message Delivery
Consumers get much of their health information from the media so it makes sense that scientific research, especially related to nutrition, is translated into layman's terms by an expert.
ASN recruits and trains talented subject matter experts and provides them with media training so they can explain complicated research in practical terms for the public.
Here are just a few of the areas of expertise:
- infant nutrition
- bone metabolism
- food science, technology, and food safety
- obesity and weight gain prevention
- nutrient metabolism (including: protein, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins and minerals, dietary fiber)
- aging and health
- gastrointestinal health
- public health nutrition
